Greater Cleveland Regional Field Director Job Description – October 2007
The Ohio Democratic Party is seeking a highly organized self starter to serve as a Regional Field Director for the Greater Cleveland Regional area.
Ideal candidate is energetic, motivated team player able to maintain a campaign-like pace through November 2008. Regional Field Directors report directly to the Field Director. Regional Field Directors will be strategically located around Ohio.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
• Implementation of ODP field & political plans; work with county parties, local organizations & candidate to tailor the ODP plans to fit the local landscape.
• Recruit volunteers, precinct captains; assist allied organizations & candidates with petition drives; organize phone banks, door to door canvassing and recruit volunteers.
• Work with voter file to identify & target voters; cut turf and lists.
• Complete weekly activity reports detailing metrics & progress made towards goals.
• Serve as ODP liaison to local grassroots organizations & county parties in your region.
• Attend & staff events on behalf of ODP; occasionally speak on behalf of ODP.
Qualifications:
• At least 1 (one) cycle paid campaign work.
• Ability to communicate effectively, work and play well with others, work well under pressure, be detail and goal oriented.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Diplomatic & professional approach to problem solving – ability to think outside the box is a plus.
• Ideal candidates will have excellent time management & organizational skills.
• Capability to work largely unsupervised toward regional goals.
• Ability to work long and irregular hours.
• Ideal candidates must have own transportation.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience. Cell phone/blackberry, healthcare provided. Mileage reimbursed.
