All fellow Cuyahoga County Democrats,

Your counterparts in other Ohio counties are working hard on the referendum to get SB 117 on next year's ballot so that it can be "vetoed." (this was the legislation from last year's lame duck session that Gov. Strickland then VETOED his first day in office and the Ohio Supreme Court ruled this past summer that his veto was invalid.) The referendum is in high gear and we are getting a great response all over the state!  We are entering the final 12 days of the campaign and WE NEED HELP FROM EVERYONE NOW to meet the requirements and make this a success.  Let's support our Governor's plan to veto this horrible piece of legislation and get petitions signed!

Cleveland Indians Home Playoff Games -- THIS WEEK.  We are organizing volunteers to go to Cleveland today, tomorrow & Thursday to circulate petitions before the Indians playoff games.   Alyssa Keeny is coordinating this effort.   We will have teams in strategic locations outside the stadium today from 5 - 7 (game starts at 7); Tuesday from 6 - 8 (game starts at 8); and Thursday from 6 - 8 (game starts at 8).  Alyssa's phone number is 440.477.5484 or toll-free 866.529.8386.  Her e-mail address is alyssa_m_allen@yahoo.com.   Anyone who can help with this effort and/or recruit others to help please call Alyssa & get the details.  We have red T-shirts that people can put over their turtleneck or sweatshirt that identify us as volunteers.  We are meeting up ahead of time to get everyone their t-shirt and supplies and then get to our positions in time to catch the most people possible.  We will have extra petitions & instructions and some extra clipboards but if people have their own clipboards they should bring them because we are running low.
