The Democratic Lawyers Group functions to bring Democratic lawyers together to utilize their legal abilities and interests to assist Democratic campaigns, candidates, and causes. Specifically, this includes networking, fundraising, ethics and policy, voter protection, and facilitation of campaign advice.

DLG informally began shortly before the 2008 general election, when a kickoff event was held that generated a number of volunteers for the voter protection and also raised money for the Obama campaign.

Since then, DLG inaugurated formally as a club under ORC 3517.01. We have already had, or are having later this year, events and lunches with statewide officeholders and candidates, CLE's that relate to politics, networking happy hours,direct action on policy and ethics, volunteer activity for Democraticcandidates, and a fundraiser for the State House Democratic Caucus.
